How a TV should actually be mounted

A TV mount is only as strong as what it is fastened to. Drywall anchors alone are not a plan for a 65-inch panel. The bracket needs to hit framing, and the lag bolts need to be long enough to bite into it.

Height matters more than people expect. The center of the screen should sit roughly at eye level from where you actually sit, not where it looks good in a showroom photo.

Cables should go behind the wall through a proper pass-through kit or into a low-profile raceway. Loose cords hanging under a mount undo all of the work.

If the wall is masonry, tile, or has anything running through it, that is the moment to stop and get a second set of eyes on it.
